A Poetic Celebration of Jesus, John the Baptist, and Joseph
O Eternal One,
You who breathe unity into all opposites,
receive this prayer in honor of the Duality of Christ —
the Child and the Eternal,
the Lamb and the Shepherd,
the Silent Sufferer and the Risen Light.
Blessed is Jesus Christ,
whose life held both dust and divinity,
whose hands shaped healing from ordinary earth,
whose voice carried mercy into the wilderness of human hearts.
May we learn from His gentleness,
and stand firm in His courage.
Blessed is John the Baptist,
the herald in the river’s echo,
the wild prophet who prepared the way with water and witness.
May his clarity guide us
when the path grows tangled
and the world forgets how to listen.
Blessed is Joseph,
the quiet guardian of holy mysteries,
the craftsman who raised a king in humility,
the dreamer who trusted the whisper of angels.
May his steadfastness teach us
to protect what is sacred
even when the world does not yet see its worth.
O Holy One,
hold us in the tension where heaven meets earth,
where the human meets the divine,
where the paradox becomes the path.
Let the duality of Christ awaken in us
a deeper compassion,
a braver love,
and a clearer purpose.
Amen.
